Service vs. Thoughtful Service

So I stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas last week for the annual Inc. Magazine GrowCo Conference.  Unfortunately, I had forgotten to bring my iPhone charger, so I flagged down the first employee who I could find in the hallway and asked if she could help me out.

Here's what she said: "Let me see what I can do...and, is it OK to just bring the charger to your room if I find one?"  Sure, I said.  "OK, here's my card.  Call my mobile if there's no charger when you get back to your room so I can personally take cake care of it, if need be."  That's service, I thought.

Two hours later, I make it back to my room and find an iPhone charger, PLUGGED IN AND ALREADY CHARGING MY PHONE!

Thank you.  That's more than service, that's thoughtful service!
